Posting this from my new iPod Touch! Don't think I'll be doing this very often though. Quite a pain to type on this keyboard with just my thumbs. Just thought I would try this out though

Why athletes can't have real jobs.....
Got this in an e-mail and thought I would share it:
Chicago Cubs outfielder Andre Dawson on being a role model: "I wan'all dem
kids to do what I do, to look up to me. I wan' all the kids to copulate me."
New Orleans Saint RB George Rogers when asked about the upcoming season: "I
want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."
And, upon hearing Joe Jacobi of the 'Skins say: "I'd run over my own
mother to win the Super Bowl," Matt Millen of the Raiders said: "To win, I'd
run over Joe's Mom, too."
Torrin Polk, University of Houston receiver, on his coach, John Jenkins:
"He treats us like men. He lets us wear earrings."
Football commentator and former player Joe Theismann in 1996: "Nobody in
football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein."
Senior basketball player at the University of Pittsburgh: "I'm going to
graduate on time, no matter how long it takes." (now that is beautiful!)
Bill Peterson, a Florida State football coach: "You guys line up
alphabetically by height." And, "You guys pair up in groups of three, then
line up in a circle."
Boxing promoter Dan Duva on Mike Tyson hooking up again with promoter Don
King: "Why would anyone expect him to come out smarter? He went to prison
for three years, not Princeton " (This one is clever.)
Stu Grimson, Chicago Blackhawks left wing, explaining why he keeps a color
photo of himself above his locker: "That's so when I
forget how to spell my name, I can still find my clothes."
Lou Duva, veteran boxing trainer, on the Spartan training regime of
heavyweight Andrew Golota: "He's a guy who gets up at six o'clock in the
morning regardless of what time it is."
Chuck Nevitt, North Carolina State basketball player, explaining to
Coach Jim Valvano why he appeared nervous at practice: "My sister's
expecting a baby, and I don't know if I'm going to be an uncle or an aunt."
(I wonder if his IQ ever hit room temperature inJanuary?)
Frank Layden, Utah Jazz president, on a former player: "I told him,
'Son, w hat is it with you? Is it ignorance or apathy?' He said, "Coach, I
don't know and I don't care." (A favorite)
Shelby Metcalf, basketball coach at Texas A&M, recounting what he told a
player who received four F's and one D: "Son, looks to me like you're
spending too much time on one subject." (Probably one of the best one-liners
ever, but completely wasted on the player in question.)
Amarillo High School and Oiler coach Bum Phillips when asked by Bob Costas
why he takes his wife on all the road trips, Phillips responded: "Because
she is too ugly to kiss good-bye." (Dead man walkin'!!!)

In response to Diabloo's "New Vehicle"
The Trailblazer's sticker price was $16995. I told them I'd think about it. Either way they insisted I submit a pre-application for the loan and I did it just to humor them because at the time I was sure they wouldn't be able to get me approved due to my credit problems.
They, were able to get me approved alright but with an interest rate of 13%! So I declined... I told them I had found a different blazer that I was interested in anyway and was way cheaper ($13995). It didn't have the same features but it was $3k cheaper so that's why I would be interested. I was able to get a lower interest rate on my car loan (9.05%) which was lower than any other places I could find because of my credit issues. So I was thinking about going with the lower priced vehicle when I then got a call from the manager telling me to come in and talk to him and negotiate the price. I figured... sure... why not. So I went in and I test drove the blazer (again) and I went into his office and we chatted. He kept trying to tell me all the stuff that they actually did to used vehicles before they sold them. Such as their 115 point inspection... so on and so forth. I agreed that it was a good thing they did that and he saw that I really wasn't leaning towards wanting to buy it at that point. So he knocked the price down to $14495. After that I told him I'd think about it. So the next day I called him up and said that if he would knock the extra $500 off the price (which would match the price of the other truck) then I would be there with a check the next day. He said he would call me back. A few min. later I got a call back from another manager who said that they would knock off that extra $500 and I said it was a done deal. So over all I thought I did a good job for my first time trying to haggle a price down. $3000 off from the sticker price was good enough for me...

5 features I would like to see on the iPod Touch
As a lot of people already know Apple announced yesterday the release of 3 new iProducts.
- iPod Nano 3G - A squatty fat version of the previous generations
- iPod Classic - Classic video iPod except more HD space available (80GBs or 160GBs) and a slight upgrade of the interface
- iPod Touch - This is literally the iPhone but without the phone features included. It's thinner (8mm). You can find more features on the iPod Touch website.
- Bluetooth - There were rumors by Engadget that bluetooth may have been part of the features missed by Apple that existed on the Touch but they later updated and let us know that it was false. The problem with this is we won't be able to connect a bluetooth keyboard to it! Who knows maybe they'll add it later. Or maybe they will come out with a keyboard accessory to connect to the iPod for easy typing.
- More HD Space - Perhaps 16GBs is enough for others but considering you can put video content on the device (which takes up tons more space than audio content) that space will be eaten up quickly. 32GBs couldn't hurt... could it?
- Embedded camera - Wouldn't it be great if you were walking around listening to music on your Touch and saw something that related to what you were listening to and wanted to take a picture of it right there and then? I know I would. Or maybe it's not related... who cares... an embedded camera would kick ass!
- Wireless sync with iTunes on PC - I know this may be possible with a future upgrade of software or someone can hack up a piece of software to do this but it would just be a nice feature to have.
- Share music wirelessly - This would coincide with the Bluetooth feature. They don't really talk about it in any of the features or videos that I saw. So it doesn't seem to be possible through WiFi as of yet (I may be wrong) but that's why it's on this list. The system could be similar to what Zune does.

Razer 3G Laser Sensor(TM) for Gaming Breaks New Ground in Laser Technology: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance
Razer 3G Laser Sensor(TM) for Gaming Breaks New Ground in Laser Technology: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance
Even though I don't need a new mouse... being the tech geek that I am, I want this! I'd be interested in trying this out and seeing if it's worth it or not. Currently I have the Razer Diamondback and it performs wonderfully. My girlfriend loves it too. She's been wanting one since I got it so if I get this one I can give her mine :). The main features touted by Razer are:
- 4000dpi Razer Precision 3G Laser™ sensor - Standard is about 800dpi so this is quite a change from your regular old laser mouse. I have to admit it takes some getting used to when you go from a lower dpi to a higher dpi but once you adjust you will never want to go back :).
- 32KB Razer Synapse™ onboard memory - This is an interesting feature. I've never seen this before so I'm interested in how this all works. There's not much about it on their site but I would be interested in how you would switch profiles from the mouse obviously it wouldn't make sense for you to switch profiles through the Razer software if that's the case why not store it on your computer. If that's the case though then this feature is kind of pointless.
- Nine independently programmable Hyperesponse™ buttons - 2 more buttons than my Diamondback. Hopefully they are easily accessible. I've noticed that with my Diamonback I have a little bit of trouble accessing all the programmable buttons. It can be quite awkward to access them, which in my opinion is not ideal for FPS gaming. I don't really use the programmable buttons currently but I do love the On-the-fly sensitivity that they provide. That thing is awesome!

Weight Loss Program
Well, about 4 weeks ago my roommate, girlfriend, roommate's girlfriend and I started a weight loss "competition". The reason I put it in quotes is because even though there is a "winner" at the end of the competition (after 12 weeks) everyone still wins in the end because we are all skinnier and healthier by the end. I must say this competition was a great thing for me because I was getting up their. My start weight was 278.6lbs. and now I'm down to about 269.2lbs. My target weight is actually 240lbs. or so so I still have quite a bit of work ahead of me. For the competition, however, my target weight is 250lbs. So if I stay on task then losing those extra 10lbs. shouldn't be that hard after the competition is over. Things I'm hoping to gain from this competition is better eating habits, physical health and mental health. So hopefully by the end of 12 weeks I will reach my target goal for weight and in good physical condition. There are several things keeping me going. First and foremost is my girlfriend, she started a weight loss program before this competition even started and up until now has lost a little over 20lbs.! That's awesome and I'm proud of her for doing that. The fact that we are doing this together really helps us out even though at times we break down and go to Village Inn and buy something to eat or something like that but in the end we are still losing weight. We have come to realize that we need to do that type of thing every once in a while in order to keep ourselves from having a complete relapse and gorging ourselves. To deprive your body of those pleasures is just blasphemous and aren't harmful in moderation. Another reason that keeps me going is the fact that I can feel the difference when I play sports. I feel a little more athletic and faster (not by a lot but enough for me to notice). Anyway, wish me luck on the rest of the competition! :)

DailyTech - Gears of War Officially Headed to the PC
All I can say is... WOOHOO!!!!!
I've been eyeing this game since I first saw the commercials for it on TV. It just looked awesome, so awesome in fact that I was debating buying an XBox 360 just for that game! Then I read this... FUCK YEAH! I'll definitely be looking for this game to come out.

Ah... the irony
kutv.com - Religious Book Seller Struck By Lightning -
Quite the irony I believe, however, that's not the point I want to make here. This statement really irks me:
Either it's one or the other... not both...
Quite the irony I believe, however, that's not the point I want to make here. This statement really irks me:
"It's difficult what happened, you know, but what can we do? Things happen in life, but we still believe in God."You know why? Because if this guy was not selling religious materials and instead were to blaspheme or oppose God in anyway then it would happen for a reason. This reason being that God was punishing those who oppose him. Instead things just happen in life... bleh... people and their damn double standards.
Either it's one or the other... not both...

My Side of the Couch
My Side of the Couch
I ran across this guy's blog by just clicking on the "Next Blog>>" feature that runs across the top of all (well most) blogger blogs and found that he was quite the intense writer. It's not just what he wrote that intrigued me but how he wrote it. For the most part he really seems to know what he's talking about and I agree with most of his political views so I think I will be reading this guy's blog from time to time.

Exercise
I'm at around 280lbs. so I definitely need to reconsider my lifestyle as far as exercise goes. It's been hard since my son was born since all I do is wake up in the morning, go to work and come home and play with my son. After he's in bed (9:30 PM) I then prepare myself to go to bed and then get on my computer. I'm trying to figure out if going for a quick run after my son goes down for a nap would be a good start to trying to get some sort of exercise during the week. I've been concerned about this for a while. I do believe that my health is important but for some reason it gets pushed to the back burner when it comes to my responsibilities. However, I'm worried that if I keep doing that I'm going to regret it later.
Perhaps taking a break at work and going for a walk or right after work? Seems like a good idea, however, that requires me bringing some workout clothes every day. I don't know how well I could keep track of that. Not to mention another pair of shoes. There are different things I'm considering but I haven't come up with a good plan yet. I think the difficult thing about it all is finding the time to do it and for how long so that it can be an effective plan. I consider myself to be an all around guy which can be a problem because I take interest in everything and my girlfriend once told me that I have an 'addictive personality'. This is definitely true because once I get started on something I feel like I have to finish it... it's like I become obsessed with whatever it is I'm doing and lose track of time and everything around me. Makes me wonder if there are others like me or if everyone is like me in that sense. Since I like lots of things I tend to be distracted and "focused" on a lot of things. If that makes any sense :). Anyway, back on track... I'll work on a plan... it's definitely no going to start today because today is my son's birthday!
