Weight Loss Program

Well, about 4 weeks ago my roommate, girlfriend, roommate's girlfriend and I started a weight loss "competition". The reason I put it in quotes is because even though there is a "winner" at the end of the competition (after 12 weeks) everyone still wins in the end because we are all skinnier and healthier by the end. I must say this competition was a great thing for me because I was getting up their. My start weight was 278.6lbs. and now I'm down to about 269.2lbs. My target weight is actually 240lbs. or so so I still have quite a bit of work ahead of me. For the competition, however, my target weight is 250lbs. So if I stay on task then losing those extra 10lbs. shouldn't be that hard after the competition is over. Things I'm hoping to gain from this competition is better eating habits, physical health and mental health. So hopefully by the end of 12 weeks I will reach my target goal for weight and in good physical condition. There are several things keeping me going. First and foremost is my girlfriend, she started a weight loss program before this competition even started and up until now has lost a little over 20lbs.! That's awesome and I'm proud of her for doing that. The fact that we are doing this together really helps us out even though at times we break down and go to Village Inn and buy something to eat or something like that but in the end we are still losing weight. We have come to realize that we need to do that type of thing every once in a while in order to keep ourselves from having a complete relapse and gorging ourselves. To deprive your body of those pleasures is just blasphemous and aren't harmful in moderation. Another reason that keeps me going is the fact that I can feel the difference when I play sports. I feel a little more athletic and faster (not by a lot but enough for me to notice). Anyway, wish me luck on the rest of the competition! :)

DailyTech - Gears of War Officially Headed to the PC
All I can say is... WOOHOO!!!!!

I've been eyeing this game since I first saw the commercials for it on TV. It just looked awesome, so awesome in fact that I was debating buying an XBox 360 just for that game! Then I read this... FUCK YEAH! I'll definitely be looking for this game to come out.

Ah... the irony

kutv.com - Religious Book Seller Struck By Lightning -
Quite the irony I believe, however, that's not the point I want to make here. This statement really irks me:
"It's difficult what happened, you know, but what can we do? Things happen in life, but we still believe in God."
You know why? Because if this guy was not selling religious materials and instead were to blaspheme or oppose God in anyway then it would happen for a reason. This reason being that God was punishing those who oppose him. Instead things just happen in life... bleh... people and their damn double standards.

Either it's one or the other... not both...
