Why athletes can't have real jobs.....

Got this in an e-mail and thought I would share it:
Chicago Cubs outfielder Andre Dawson on being a role model: "I wan'all dem
kids to do what I do, to look up to me. I wan' all the kids to copulate me."

New Orleans Saint RB George Rogers when asked about the upcoming season: "I
want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

And, upon hearing Joe Jacobi of the 'Skins say: "I'd run over my own
mother to win the Super Bowl," Matt Millen of the Raiders said: "To win, I'd
run over Joe's Mom, too."

Torrin Polk, University of Houston receiver, on his coach, John Jenkins:
"He treats us like men. He lets us wear earrings."

Football commentator and former player Joe Theismann in 1996: "Nobody in
football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein."

Senior basketball player at the University of Pittsburgh: "I'm going to
graduate on time, no matter how long it takes." (now that is beautiful!)

Bill Peterson, a Florida State football coach: "You guys line up
alphabetically by height." And, "You guys pair up in groups of three, then
line up in a circle."

Boxing promoter Dan Duva on Mike Tyson hooking up again with promoter Don
King: "Why would anyone expect him to come out smarter? He went to prison
for three years, not Princeton " (This one is clever.)

Stu Grimson, Chicago Blackhawks left wing, explaining why he keeps a color
photo of himself above his locker: "That's so when I
forget how to spell my name, I can still find my clothes."

Lou Duva, veteran boxing trainer, on the Spartan training regime of
heavyweight Andrew Golota: "He's a guy who gets up at six o'clock in the
morning regardless of what time it is."

Chuck Nevitt, North Carolina State basketball player, explaining to
Coach Jim Valvano why he appeared nervous at practice: "My sister's
expecting a baby, and I don't know if I'm going to be an uncle or an aunt."
(I wonder if his IQ ever hit room temperature inJanuary?)

Frank Layden, Utah Jazz president, on a former player: "I told him,
'Son, w hat is it with you? Is it ignorance or apathy?' He said, "Coach, I
don't know and I don't care." (A favorite)

Shelby Metcalf, basketball coach at Texas A&M, recounting what he told a
player who received four F's and one D: "Son, looks to me like you're
spending too much time on one subject." (Probably one of the best one-liners
ever, but completely wasted on the player in question.)

Amarillo High School and Oiler coach Bum Phillips when asked by Bob Costas
why he takes his wife on all the road trips, Phillips responded: "Because
she is too ugly to kiss good-bye." (Dead man walkin'!!!)

In response to Diabloo's "New Vehicle"

The Trailblazer's sticker price was $16995. I told them I'd think about it. Either way they insisted I submit a pre-application for the loan and I did it just to humor them because at the time I was sure they wouldn't be able to get me approved due to my credit problems.

They, were able to get me approved alright but with an interest rate of 13%! So I declined... I told them I had found a different blazer that I was interested in anyway and was way cheaper ($13995). It didn't have the same features but it was $3k cheaper so that's why I would be interested. I was able to get a lower interest rate on my car loan (9.05%) which was lower than any other places I could find because of my credit issues. So I was thinking about going with the lower priced vehicle when I then got a call from the manager telling me to come in and talk to him and negotiate the price. I figured... sure... why not. So I went in and I test drove the blazer (again) and I went into his office and we chatted. He kept trying to tell me all the stuff that they actually did to used vehicles before they sold them. Such as their 115 point inspection... so on and so forth. I agreed that it was a good thing they did that and he saw that I really wasn't leaning towards wanting to buy it at that point. So he knocked the price down to $14495. After that I told him I'd think about it. So the next day I called him up and said that if he would knock the extra $500 off the price (which would match the price of the other truck) then I would be there with a check the next day. He said he would call me back. A few min. later I got a call back from another manager who said that they would knock off that extra $500 and I said it was a done deal. So over all I thought I did a good job for my first time trying to haggle a price down. $3000 off from the sticker price was good enough for me...

5 features I would like to see on the iPod Touch

As a lot of people already know Apple announced yesterday the release of 3 new iProducts.
  • iPod Nano 3G - A squatty fat version of the previous generations
  • iPod Classic - Classic video iPod except more HD space available (80GBs or 160GBs) and a slight upgrade of the interface
  • iPod Touch - This is literally the iPhone but without the phone features included. It's thinner (8mm). You can find more features on the iPod Touch website.
This post, however, isn't intended to advertise or review the products, other sites already do just that. Instead, I want to post 5 features that I would like to see on the iPod Touch:
  • Bluetooth - There were rumors by Engadget that bluetooth may have been part of the features missed by Apple that existed on the Touch but they later updated and let us know that it was false. The problem with this is we won't be able to connect a bluetooth keyboard to it! Who knows maybe they'll add it later. Or maybe they will come out with a keyboard accessory to connect to the iPod for easy typing.
  • More HD Space - Perhaps 16GBs is enough for others but considering you can put video content on the device (which takes up tons more space than audio content) that space will be eaten up quickly. 32GBs couldn't hurt... could it?
  • Embedded camera - Wouldn't it be great if you were walking around listening to music on your Touch and saw something that related to what you were listening to and wanted to take a picture of it right there and then? I know I would. Or maybe it's not related... who cares... an embedded camera would kick ass!
  • Wireless sync with iTunes on PC - I know this may be possible with a future upgrade of software or someone can hack up a piece of software to do this but it would just be a nice feature to have.
  • Share music wirelessly - This would coincide with the Bluetooth feature. They don't really talk about it in any of the features or videos that I saw. So it doesn't seem to be possible through WiFi as of yet (I may be wrong) but that's why it's on this list. The system could be similar to what Zune does.
I'm curious... what features would you like to see added?
